We have eagerly been awaiting this trip to D.C. The last time we were in this city, Will was 18 mos and Scott was doing the Marine Corps Marathon. Amazing that we return at nearly the exact same week, several years later. We took the train which was really a highlight for our train loving boys. The train ride was only slightly over 2 hours, about the same as it is to drive, but so much more peaceful! So we train, metroed and cabed the city and walked quite a distance always in awe of our surroundings. It is always an adventure and full of challenges to take three little kiddos (one not quite two but with energy and tantrums in full speed) but I was amazed to see just how mature Will and Jett were and seem to navigate the city with ease. We all shivered as the wind and days were in the highs of barely 50, but bundled off and were thankful for the sunshine and lack of rain. We all braced for the moments we had to journey outside and convince (and often force unwillingly) Owen to put on a coat. We often settled with the thickest sweater I could find as the idea of a jacket was a complete no go. Amazingly, even when his cheeks and nose were pink, he would run along, pick up stones along the mall and be in heaven walking along the wide sidewalks.

Waiting for the train with Grandma Sue.
D.S. !
