As I posted on Facebook- this is our very friendly baby squirrel that decided to drop down the chimney one night while Scott and I were watching TV. It cought us off guard and all we could do was laugh! The little guy was so fast and we were so worried that he could find a way out of the screen. He would run around like crazy- every way but back up! So we brainstormed- and postitioned a lot of things to make sure the screen was tight to that brick! We couldn't catch him that first night so we went to bed and he was gone in the morning. Sure enough he was back in there the next evening. Sooo- Scott put the travel guniea pig cage (who would have thought having a guinea pig would come in handy!) and some food in the bottom of cage. He geared up with leather gloves and net ( he would die if he knew that picture was on my blog) and he unbent a wire hanger and stood watch for an hour waiting to catch his critter. Eventually, the squirrel dropped in the cage and Scott closed the door and out he went to freedom.
If this is not 100% proof that we are city people and have no place in the wilderness or with its creatures!
