Winter Fun! We took the kiddos ice skating- everyone had been asking to go. Grandma Sue was our brave third person we needed so that we could be one on one with the kids. How lucky am I that Grandma is a pretty awesome skater! Jett, especially loves skating. He stayed out in the rink longer than any of us. Although the big kids aren't totally unassisted skaters they were full of joy, giggles and persistence. Even with a few bruised bums- it was thumbs up for all of us...and the grown ups managed to stay on their feet!
Wintergreen Ski/ Tubing: We wanted to take the kids skiing as well but with such a warm winter the days to go have been limited. Some how we woke up this morning knowing we needed a change of scenery and wouldn't you know it that God provided snow as well! We didn't have our lucky extra helper like before so we opted for tubing instead. SOOOO MUCH FUN!!! This time we also checked out the kid area for Owen's age and found that they had their own little lift and tube ride. Owen and I didn't stop from the moment we got there. We rode down the run every way we could come up with and he loved it- the faster the better! WIth this little one- his moods and often tenuous states can be a challenge- but such a victory when moments of complete joy can be found. I hadn't had this much fun or this many giggles in a long time!
Ended the afternoon with smores by the fire pit. This will have to be an annual Hawken event!
